Kristen Becker, a well-known comedian in Buffalo, NY wanted a poster design for the Dyke of Hazard upcoming comedy tour. The group’s style of comedy had a reputation of pushing boundaries of appropriateness and for being very tongue-in-cheek. She requested a microphone be used within the design. To create the tie the comedy and burlesque, I sprouted the legs out of the laughing woman’s mouth. The second design was made to be slightly more suggestive and appealing within larger cities. My goal through both of these designs was to do this established group justice and ensure I snatch and squeeze the eyeballs of every viewer.
